Adrian
Andrade is a re-entry student currently in his Senior year at CSUMB.
He will graduate in Fall of 1998 with a Bachelor's degree in Human
Communication. Immediate future goals include obtaining a Master's
degree in Multicultural Education and teaching at the college levelthe
college level.

Julie
Bliss arrived at CSU Monterey Bay in 1995. She will be graduating
this spring with a B.A. in Human Communication, with a concentration
in creative writing. She has been seriously writing poetry for two
years and creative writing for social change has become a large
part of that process. She is also a photographer.

Salina
DiIorio is a junior at CSU Monterey Bay, majoring in Human Communication.
Her concentration is in Creative Writing. After graduation she hopes
to work in publishing and/or free lance writing.

Memory
Froncek is a re-entry student at CSUMB. She is a senior majoring
in Human Communication with a focus in literary analysis. She is
studying the language and culture of France with the hope of someday
living and teaching there.

DeBorah
A. Gadson was born and raised in California. She enjoys camping,
hiking and almost anything that allows her to enjoy nature. A mother
of one son, DeBorah now lives in Monterey, CA, and is a student
at CSU Monterey Bay working on her degree in Human Communication.

Sarah
Lerma is a junior at California State University Monterey Bay. She
is part of the Inaugural class and majoring in Human Communication
with an emphasis in Creative Writing. After graduation in the Spring
of 1999, she plans on attending a graduate program in Women and
Gender.

Amy
Manfre is a student at California State University at Monterey Bay.
She will be graduating in May of 1998 with a degree in Human Communication.
She has discovered that she learns about herself and her surroundings
in classes which involve participating in the community.

María
Teresa Martínez grew up in Aromas, CA, a small country town.
She is twenty-three and has lived in the Monterey Bay area all of
her life. Currently, she's living on campus at CSU Monterey Bay
with her boyfriend, Takashi, and their dog, Cholo. She is majoring
in Liberal Studies with a concentration in writing. Her goal is
to teach elementary school in California and Mexico.

Erin
Silvas is a student of the Institute for Human Communication at
CSUMB. She has been writing for five years. She likes to write short
stories and to learn about the life experiences of people from different
cultural backgrounds. Erin is the first person in her family to
attend college and pursue graduate school.

Poet
Frances Payne Adler is the Director of the Creative Writing and
Social Action Program at CSU Monterey Bay. She is the author of
four books of poetry. With photographer Kira Carrillo Corser, Adler
has four social action art exhibitions travelling the country, most
recently, "A Matriot's Dream: Health Care for All."

Photographer
Kira Carrillo Corser is Visual Art Consultant to the Institute for
Human Communication at CSUMB. In addition to her social action projects
and books, Corser's fine art photography has shown in the Museum
of Photographic Arts, the Ansel Adams Gallery, and the Smithsonian
Institute.

Carol
Amelia Lasquade is the CARE Coordinator and an EOPS Counselor at
MPC. Carol has worked in equity education for over 15 years and
is committed to assisting individuals in reaching their potential
through education. Carol joyfully resides in California (a Boston
transplant) with her husband, Doug, and her son, Matt, who is currently
a senior at CSU, Chico.
